Wood Shop Classes
Wood Shop 101 - Hands-on safety and use
Prerequisite: Members Only
Class + Material Fee: $7.50
Class Size: Min-1/Max-4
Class Duration: approximately 1 hr.
Come learn the basic safety and use of the equipment in our Wood Shop. This class covers the safe use of the table saw, drill press, bandsaw, miter saw, planer, jointer, and sanding equipment. This class does NOT cover lathe, router table, and CNC equipment.

Wood Shop 102 - Wood Lathe safety and use
Prerequisite: Must have some experience with wood turning
Class + Materials Fee: $30
Class Size: Min-1/Max-2
Class Duration: 2 hrs.
This class is to confirm you have some experience and to instruct the student how to use the variable speed lathe with a DRO. Lathe work can be dangerous so we do not want newbies touching this equipment.
Wood Shop 103 - Wood Router Table
Prerequisite: Members only and must have completed Wood shop 101
Class + Materials Fee: $30
Class Size: Min-1/Max-2
Class Duration: 2 hrs.
This class is to provide the instruction on the safe use of the router table with the Incra box joint fence. Router tables can be dangerous and we want you to understand how to use the fence so you don’t hurt yourself nor damage the equipment.

Wood Shop 104 - CNC Wood Router
(Non-Member) Class + Materials Fee $65 (Non-members must bring a signed Bridgewire Waiver to the class)
(Member) Class + Materials Fee $45 (members must Sign-In to see price) Prerequisite: Must have completed Wood Shop 101 and have an understand of how to create vector files with graphics software.
Class Size: Min-1/Max-3
Class Duration: 3 hrs.
This class provides the instruction on the safe use of the CNC wood router. This includes instruction on VCarvePro and Mach4 controller software. Because CNC equipment runs on its own, it is important that users know how to use and manipulate the equipment and software without damaging the equipment. We also want to make sure that anyone taking this class already has an understanding of how to use graphics software.

Wood Shop 201 - Floating Shelf or Mantel
Prerequisite: Must have completed Wood Shop 101
Material Cost: None, will use shop materials or bring your own
Class Size: Min-1/Max-3
Class Duration: 4 hrs.
This class provides the materials and the instruction to build an unfinished floating shelf with dimensions of about 5" x 20" x 4" thick - finishing or staining not included in class time
The class goes through the use of the planer, the table saw and most of the tools in the woodshop.
