Privileges and Limitations

  1. Members gain access to 5400 square feet of Lab and Shop space. You will be able to use our collection of 30+ powered machines, 20+ powered hand tools, and 100’s of non-powered hand tools, fixtures, and equipment. You can use sophisticated 2D and 3D design software to create your printing and cutting files

  2. Initial tool and shop use is limited to hand tools, the electronics lab and multipurpose room.

  3. Use of all additional tools and equipment requires equipment specific safety and use classes or specialty training classes as marked on the equipment.

  4. For safety reasons, some classes and equipment have age minimums. Beyond the minimums, it is the responsibility of the parent/guardian of juniors to set their own limits for their juniors to safely operate the equipment and tools.

  5. Access 24/7 to the shop with a Keycard

  6. Discounts on Training Classes and Events

  7. Member Cabinet storage; dependent on space available.

  8. Project Storage Areas for “Active Projects” but with time constraints; dependent on space availability.

  9. Calendared Classes, Group Events and special Bridgewire sanctioned events have priority over your use of equipment, tools, and shops/labs.

  10. All equipment, tools, and materials are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

  11. All tools and equipment shall never be borrowed or taken from the facility.

  12. Members are allowed to bring in Guests with a Day Guest Pass. This Guest Pass can be used 2 times per month. Follow instructions on the Pass.

Requirements

  1. When a new member joins they are only authorized to use hand tools, equipment in the electronics lab and the multipurpose room. They must take safety and use classes and/or specific equipment training classes to gain access to those parts of the shop. Check our Class and Event Calendar

  2. Members must follow the Rules and Policies of Bridgewire. Open this Policy Manual and read before joining.

  3. Members are expected to contribute and participate in Bridgewire’s mission and policies.

  4. Autopay Memberships will be renewed automatically, at the current rate, until cancelled by the Member. These memberships may require credit card information to remain on file so that automatic renewal charges can be made.

  5. Bridgewire reserves the right to change prices, offers, and fees at any time. We will notify you via email or through our website, in advance, if there is a change from what was stated at the time of your original order. Since email alone is not a totally reliable way to disseminate important information, please visit our website regularly to keep up to date on any changes.

  6. At the time a membership expires, one must forfeit their method of entry in addition to any other property owned by Bridgewire to a member of the board of directors or an agent designated by the board of directors for this purpose.

  7. Household Add-on Memberships are for adult spouses, partners, and adult children of the primary Individual Member who live in the same home.

  8. Junior Memberships are non voting memberships for children 10-17 in age. Junior member access and activities must be under the supervision and the sole responsibility of the signed parent or guardian who is a voting member.

  9. Voting Members are entitled to one (1) vote on any issue put before the membership. In addition, they receive one vote in all Elections. Supporting Members have no voting rights.

Joining Process

  1. Take a tour of the shop at one of our Open Houses. We want you to see what we have to offer and please ask questions.

  2. You must pay the appropriate membership fee when you join at an Open House (pay thru a Link; only available at the Open House)

  3. At the time you join you must register and pay for a New Member Orientation class (pay thru our website; at an Open House). This class is required before attending any other classes. You will not be given access to the shop until you attend the New Member Orientation class. At completion of the class you will be give a keycard and can attend other classes.

  4. Complete and sign a Bridgewire Membership Application for each member either in person or download Application, print and bring when signing up

  5. Complete and sign a Bridgewire Waiver for each member either in person or download Waiver., print and bring when signing up.

  6. Provide government-issued photo identification.

  7. Discounted Members must provide proof of being an active enrolled adult student or teacher.

  8. Present the documents to an officer or board director at an Open House.
